Daily Postcard from the Lake District #5, Monday

Last day of the holiday!

Today's walk was a circular from Coniston via Tarn Hows and Tilberthwaite.  Pictures below:

Pleasant walking from Coniston to Tarn Hows.

View to Coniston Old Man (left) and Wetherlam just before reaching the old car park at Tarn Hows.

Looking to the Langdales from the same spot.

Tarn Hows.

Lakeland scene; the clouds make it perfect.

More pleasant walking, out of the sun's glare, between Tarn Hows and Tilberthwaite.

Cottage at Tilberthwaite.  Note the spinning gallery.

After the recent dry spell, the becks are already drying up.  Another drought year?

Old mine working above Coppermines Valley.

View of distant Coniston Water from above Coppermines Valley.

So, this is my last night at Dorchester House, back to the grindstone tomorrow night.  I'll be returning to the Lakes in June, so expect more daily postcards then.

My usual Saturday and also (hopefully) midweek walks will be posted again as normal after today.

Be well all!
